Ways to Make Your Caring Count–
All Tax Deductible!
Region 3B Area Agency on Aging is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We depend on gifts, grants, and donations to provide the array of services needed in our communities. Your support, either large or small, helps us continue this important work!
Here’s how you can help!
- Make a donation to the Unmet Needs Fund and help an older adult live in dignity. These funds are used to provide needed services (like bathing, personal care and in-home respite care), medical equipment, hearing aides, glasses and incontinent supplies to low-income elderly who ‘fall through the cracks’ of receiving other forms of assistance. This is a fund of last resort. Checks may be made payable to: Region 3B Area Agency on Aging and mailed to 200 W. Michigan Avenue, Suite 102, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
- Support our long-term sustainability through the Aging Endowment Fund of the Area Agency on Aging, held at the Battle Creek Community Foundation. These donations offer special tax advantages in Michigan that permit you to reduce the Michigan Income Tax or Single Business Tax liability by a credit of 50% of the amount contributed to a community foundation. Contributions are tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.
- Support the work we do through cost sharing of services, as you are able. This allows us to serve even more people in our community.
Your gifts and contributions are especially important as the number of older adults continues to increase while our state and Federal funding continues to see decreases. According to the National Area Agencies on Aging, every 7 seconds another Baby Boomer turns 60 and becomes eligible for aging services? In Michigan it is projected by the year 2030, over two million people (1 out of 5) will be age 65 and older.
